Delta assists HMRC and SSAS~Pro users to pre-register 7,000 schemes electronically

HMRC's exercise to have as many SSASs pre-register their Scheme Administrator and Practitioner details as possible prior to A-Day has recently passed it's first milestone, with the deadline for submissions in this respect from the industry closing on 31st Jan 2006.

The exrecise required Pensioneer Trustees to submit information about each scheme in a prescribed format, with one document per scheme being registered. However, HMRC granted Delta's SSAS~Pro users a significant concession, allowing them not only to submit the data in this respect electronically, but also permitting a single, signed declaration by the PT to be submitted on behalf of all the schemes listed in the electronic file.

In addition, the deadline for this concession was also extended to 7th Feb 2006, to allow firms additional time to cleanse their data prior to submitting it. This exercise has now been successfully concluded, and facilitated the registration of some 7,000 SSASs electronically for our users, around 1 in 4 of all SSASs in existence.

Delta are pleased to have been able to facilitate this exercise for SSAS~Pro users, saving them significant time and manual effort during a period of unprecedented change in the self-administered pensions market. That the exercise has been completed by all concerned in such a short timescale is a further powerful example of the benefits of having a flexible software administration system in general, and of the close working relationship Delta has with HMRC in particular.
