Delta does not envisage any major disruption to our business during the London 2012 Olympics.
Our main offices are in Nuneaton in Warwickshire, well away from any of the major Olympic venues, so we anticipate disruption for the vast majority of our staff to be minimal.
Delta also has an office in Richmond, on the Thames in West London, and this is near to some of the major outdoor spectator events including the delivery of the Olympic torch down the river Thames, and the long distance cycle races, which go through the nearby Royal parks in the Borough. However, as these events are all taking place mostly at weekends and as this office only has one full time employee based there, (who in any event is able to work remotely from home if required) again, we expect any disruption to be absolutely minimal to the day to day running of our business.
Our project and relationship managers are aware of the timetable/location of the Olympic events and have therefore been briefed to take this into consideration when arranging any business critical activities that might require travelling to a client in a location affected. Instead use will be made of remote connections and teleconferencing where possible.
We have also consulted the operators of our data centre, Node4, and they have confirmed that, whilst they are aware of the potential impacts that the Olympics may cause, they operate a resilient network with robust break out points in both London and Manchester and do not anticipate being affected by any outages in London. In addition the data centre is currently run at around 25% of broadband utilisation and therefore traffic can be re-routed without any degradation of service.
We do not therefore anticipate any major disruption to the day to day business of Delta, either for our staff or more importantly our customers, at any time during the London 2012 Olympics.
