FSA Thematic Review of SIPP Operators

The latest review was carried out by the FSA to investigate concerns and determine the extent to which SIPP operators had adapted their processes and procedures to reduce risks following their 2009 report.

The publication of the FSA’s findings on 23 October concentrated on risk planning and mitigation, the application of CASS rules and controls on investments held in SIPPs.

One of the areas highlighted was that some SIPP operators have inadequate risk identification processes and risk mitigation planning, underpinned by poor quality management information.

Those of you who attended our User Forum in June will be aware that we have developed a new suite of management information reports in the Report Engine based on both feedback from you and the findings in the FSA’s original thematic review in 2009.

The reports will enable our clients to analyse and report on data held in SIPP~Pro covering the following key areas:

  • New business
  • Scheme membership
  • Assets under management
  • Contributions and transfers
  • Benefit payments
  • Cash balances

Due to the large number of new reports being introduced they will be released in two phases. Please contact the Delta Support Team to arrange for them to be deployed to you.

Temporary User Licences

From time to time we receive requests from clients for new user licences for use by temporary staff helping with data input and other projects.

We are very happy to provide user licences on a temporary basis as long as you make us aware of this when the licences are requested so that we can mark them as such on your Licence Pricing Schedule. We do ask that the licence is put in place for at least one quarter and that you come back to us to tell us when you would like it removed.

Our Support Team is able to add new user licences at relatively short notice.

Microsoft Apprentice Employer of the Year

Our Microsoft apprentices Jacob Freeman and Luke Hennerley have made incredible progress over the course of the last year and are due to complete their apprenticeships at the end of July.

Apprenticeships are a crucial way of providing training in vital technical skills. Each year Microsoft announces winners of their Apprentice of the Year awards to recognise the hard work and excellence of the thousands of Microsoft-backed apprentices and their employers.

The winners were announced at Microsoft’s annual Parliamentary Reception in the House of Commons, on 3 July and Delta was thrilled to be awarded the Apprentice Employer of the Year award in recognition of the support given to our apprentices.

This is incredibly exciting for us, having been selected from over 3,000 employers participating in the Microsoft Apprenticeship scheme this year.

Building on this success we are currently recruiting for a new apprentice for our Client Support Team in order to boost the front line support we provide to our clients.
